2019 Chemistry Education Research Graduate Student and PostDoc Professional Development Conference

Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Chemistry Education Research Graduate Student & PostDoc Professional Development Conference.

Click here to apply: https://miamioh.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_50IhtqJGP3FiFnL

The conference will be held at Miami University from July 18 – 21, 2019. The conference will focus on peer review in CER including workshops on submitting and reviewing both NSF grant proposals and journal manuscripts, as well as participating on ACS Exam Committees.

Approximately 40 participants will gather for the weekend to share their research at poster sessions and have the opportunity to network with one another and senior scholars in CER. The conference will begin on Thursday, July 18 at 5pm and conclude with a Q&A panel session on Sunday, July 21 by 12 noon.

This conference is funded through the generous support of the National Science Foundation as a broader impacts project. The grant will cover travel, lodging, and most meals during the conference for the graduate students and post-docs.

Confirmed speakers, workshop leaders, and “village elders” can be found at http://chemistry.miamioh.edu/bretzsl/cergsc/2019/agenda.html. Details on how to prepare an application are available at http://chemistry.miamioh.edu/bretzsl/cergsc/2019/application-2.html

Priority will be given to applications received by April 15, 2019. All four previous offerings of this conference filled to capacity and resulted in applicants being placed on wait lists. Not all students on the wait lists were able to be accommodated, so students are urged to apply by the priority deadline. This conference was previously held in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2017. You can learn more about the previous conferences at http://chemistry.miamioh.edu/bretzsl/cergsc/.

Lastly, please take a moment to forward this to graduate students and postdocs engaged in chemistry education research who may not be subscribed to the CER listserv.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Stacey Lowery Bretz
