Hello ChemEd friends,
The deadline for abstract submission to BCCE 2018 is February 20. As the deadline is fast-approaching, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a symposium I am organizing with the hopes that you will consider joining us by submitting an abstract for it.
The symposium is entitled "Addressing Underrepresented Groups in STEM". It is purposefully envisioned to address any underrepresented group in STEM, encompassing all aspects of personal identity which might make an individual part of an underrepresented group, such as gender identity and expression, racial and ethnic identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and others.
t is open to researchers and practitioners alike. It aims to address the challenges faced by these groups with presentations that characterize the experiences of these populations, describe curricular interventions that help increase representation, share successful programs and best practices that target these populations, and any other research or educational endeavor that somehow addresses underrepresented groups in STEM.
