GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY Chemistry Department, Allendale, Michigan invites applications for an Affiliate Professor to begin August 6, 2020. Candidates must have a minimum of a master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. The degree must be completed by the start date. Responsibilities for this position include teaching lectures and labs in general chemistry, and introductory organic chemistry or biochemistry. Additional teaching assignments may be made depending on the individual’s expertise/interests and departmental needs. Affiliate Professors are also expected to engage in professional development that enhances their role as chemistry educators. The Department values candidates who demonstrate an ability to work in a collaborative environment with a diverse population of colleagues and students. Affiliate faculty typically teach 12 to 15 contact hours per week in lecture, discussion, and lab settings. Individuals will be appointed for one academic year, or fiscal year, on a full-time or part-time basis. This may be renewed once for an additional academic, or fiscal year.
