We are seeking a candidate to fill a one-year post-doctoral researcher position for a project titled “Towards equity in building lifelong learning skills: investigating the relationships between a postsecondary intervention and students’ stress, transferable skills, and educators’ beliefs”. This project is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Insight Development Grant) and involves a collaboration with University Research Chair Nafissa Ismail. Educational requirement (required by start date)
Doctoral degree in education, educational psychology, or a related field.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have some mix of expertise in the following areas:
● Postsecondary assessment, evaluation, and/or educational research
● Knowledge of learning, including metacognition, growth mindset, and learning theories
● Contributing to collaborative research projects
● Designing and conducting qualitative research studies, including data collection, analysis, and management
● Designing and conducting quantitative research studies, including statistical analysis and programming (e.g., SPSS, R)
● Strong organizational skills and ability to complete complex projects according to deadlines
● Laboratory skills (e.g., extraction and ELISA assays and analyses)
● Excellent analytical and communication skills
● Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities
The postdoctoral associate will be expected to participate in mentoring graduate and undergraduate research students.
