Grand Valley State University is searching for an affiliate faculty (instructor) to begin in the Fall of 2017. This is primarily a teaching position but the person filling this position would have the oppurtunity to particpate in curriculium development and/or chemistry education research projects. 

Position Title:  Affiliate faculty beginning in August 2017.

Required Qualifications and Education: Candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Chemistry and a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions: 

Responsibilities include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in the survey and full-year general chemistry sequences; additional assignments in organic and/or biological chemistry lecture and laboratory will also be given depending on candidate expertise and departmental needs. The Department values candidates who demonstrate an ability to work in a collaborative environment with a diverse population of colleagues and students. This 9-month, full-time appointment will begin August 2017. Teaching load is 24-30 credits per academic year in classroom and laboratory settings.  Initially, the appointment will be reviewed annually for the first two years.  After year two, reviews shift to every three years. 

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
