Colleagues,
We are considering a renovation of our general and organic chemistry teaching laboratory spaces. We are particularly concerned with student safety and the integration of technology (i.e. for data collection). Does anyone have recent experience either with the design of a new laboratory space, or the remodeling of an older space? Any lessons learned? Or ideas about how we might design a space to accommodate current technologies as well as what may happen in the next 25-30 years? Can you point me to any interesting research on designing effective learning environments? I appreciate any advice you can offer.
Many Thanks,
