Lecturer Position - University of Nebraska - Lincoln

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is seeking a full-time Lecturer to teach principally organic chemistry courses beginning Fall semester 2023. This is a non-tenure track nine-month academic year appointment with full benefits and holds the possibility of a one- or two-year initial appointment, depending on qualifications and subsequent renewal.

Responsibilities will include teaching multiple sections of the introductory organic chemistry lecture, managing Teaching Assistants, holding office hours, and associated responsibilities. Alternative teaching responsibilities may include introductory chemistry, general chemistry, or honors seminars. There are no assigned duties during the summer months, but there may be opportunities for summer teaching for additional salary. We seek an individual who has an innate interest in teaching and who can motivate students to learn through student-centered learning techniques. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in chemistry, chemical education, or a related discipline and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education; ABD candidates will be considered.
