James Madison University is currently accepting applications for a Math/Science Area Coordinator. The math and science area coordinator provides oversight of the “STEM” area of the program and serves as part of the leadership team for general education at JMU. We seek an individual who will:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with faculty and department heads in the eight units that contribute to the area.
- Oversee assessment of the area’s learning outcomes.
- Serve as a source of information and provide support to instructional faculty teaching in the math and science area.
- Coordinate math and science course offerings and evaluate transfer courses to ensure students’ timely progress through the program.
- Lead and participate in program-wide activities, such as curricular changes and our annual student conference.
- Represent the general education program in university-wide initiatives.
