New and Noteworthy in 2016- 2017 - REMINDER

Have you published a chemistry education research article in the past two years in a peer-reviewed journal? If so, we would like you to consider participating in the Chemical Education Research Committee’s invitation-only symposium to be held at the 255th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans, LA from March 18 - 22, 2018.

The purpose of the "Chemistry Education Research: New and Noteworthy in 2016-2017" symposium is to highlight up to four exemplary papers that were published in 2016 and 2017. Exemplary papers include a theoretical/conceptual framework, investigation of an important question to the field, and utilize a strong experimental design and thorough analysis. Please see the attached rubric that will be used to select papers for more information.

If you are interested in being considered for inclusion in this special symposium, please send an electronic copy of ONE published paper to Joi Walker, Department of Chemistry, East Carolina University, (walkerjoi15@ecu.edu) by midnight (EST) on October 10th. We will only accept one paper per first author. Submissions consisting of two or more articles will not be considered. The decisions will be announced on October 17th. The deadline for abstract submission to the Division of Chemical Education for the New Orleans ACS Meeting is October 23rd. You must be registered for the New Orleans ACS meeting in order to participate in this symposium.

Hope to hear from you soon!!
