The Center for Community and Citizen Science seeks an accomplished science education researcher to join an NSF-funded research-practice partnership developing and implementing a prison-based master naturalist certification course. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in education or environmental social sciences, and be ready with the compassion and experience needed to jump into this highly collaborative initiative that includes regular visits to nearby prisons where research and programming will take place. In addition to the relevant academic fields, we are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge and/or experience related to carceral settings and the criminal justice system, or other system-impacted experiences.
