In a cross departmental joint initiative with the School of Biological Sciences, the Center for Empathy and Social Justice in Human Health (CESJHH) seeks to recruit candidates for a postdoctoral position at UC San Diego. This position will be co-advised by Professors Gentry Patrick and Stanley Lo in the School of Biological Sciences. Dr. Patrick also serves as Center Director of the CESJHH. We are using design-based research to iteratively develop, implement, self-study, evaluate, and disseminate student support models to advance the wellbeing and success of students from minoritized communities in STEM and healthcare education via empathy- and compassion-based interventions and programming. This position will collaborate with researchers, practitioners, administrators, staff, and faculty to examine science- and practice-based elements for new models to enhance and advance student success, mental health and wellbeing.
