Dear CER community,
The education non-profit Digital Promise is seeking General Chemistry I instructors interested in participating in a multi-year research study focused on evidence-based teaching practices and student learning. With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we are studying teaching and learning in college-level General Chemistry courses and examining whether a new digital learning courseware achieves its goals of enhancing course engagement and outcomes for students. The courseware, REAL (Relevant, Engaging, Active Learning) CHEM, is being developed by Arizona State University and Carnegie Mellon University.
We are particularly interested in partnering with instructors who work in institutions with high proportions of students who identify as low-income, first-generation, Black, Latinx, and/or Indigenous. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please visit our project’s website or email Dr. Guillermo D. Ibarrola Recalde at guillermo@digitalpromise.org. A member of the Digital Promise team will follow up with you to answer any questions and go over the next steps.
Please also consider distributing this announcement and the attached information sheet to your networks.
Sincerely,
Guillermo D. Ibarrola Recalde, Ph.D.
Senior STEM Education Researcher at Digital Promise
