Symposia Presiders needed!

Have you ever wanted to get involved with presiding over a symposium at a conference? The Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars committee invites interested graduate students, post-docs, and early career faculty to serve as presiders in the Graduate Student Research Symposia sessions at the upcoming BCCE. This symposia has sessions every day of the conference providing opportunities for many presiders to get involved and gain experience in this professional skill and engage in leadership in our field. This symposia is designed to be a safe and constructive space for speakers, presiders, and audience members to learn and engage with each other, many of whom are attending a conference for the first time. If you would be more comfortable presiding with a partner, feel free to sign up with a partner!

Responsibilities include:

- Commit to presiding over a 1.5 hour session. Each session has 4 speakers.

- Help speakers load their presentations on the computer before the session.

- Introduce each speaker in your session.

- Watch the time and keep speakers on schedule.

- Be prepared to engage in the short Q&A session at the end of each talk.

Use the following Google Sheet to sign up (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16tD2Ua9nSrPaeE6XeG3db3_gHn2q2rXQE3vARcGCGwU/edit?usp=sharing).
