UA Full Time Teaching Faculty

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a full-time Career Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice with expertise in teaching general and inorganic chemistry. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the general and inorganic chemistry lecture and laboratories. This is an academic year (9-month) position at 1.0 FTE starting in Fall 2026.

We seek candidates with a background in chemistry. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching using evidence-based teaching practices and mentoring at the undergraduate level. We seek individuals who bring enthusiasm, leadership capability, and a deep commitment to academic excellence. This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure. We will give priority to applications received by March 29, 2026.

We particularly welcome applicants interested in joining a collaborative team of instructors implementing the Chemical Thinking curriculum, an innovative approach to general chemistry that emphasizes reasoning about relevant chemical phenomena through mechanistic reasoning and systems thinking. Candidates who are enthusiastic about curricular innovation, evidence-based teaching, and reflective instructional practices in undergraduate chemistry are especially encouraged to apply.
