Dear Chemical Education Colleagues:
The rapid evolution of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has led to lively discussion and debate amongst chemical education researchers and practitioners about the best practices related to its implementation and use. The Committee on Computers in Chemical Education (CCCE) will host a symposium entitled "Best Practices for the Implementation and Use of Artificial Intelligence in Chemistry Education Research and Practice" at the spring 2025 ACS meeting in San Diego, CA. We encourage submission from presenters that will showcase and discuss the application of AI in both research and instructional settings, with a focus on best practices for the use of AI, based on documented outcomes. Presenters will be invited to work with the CCCE to publish a set of best practices related to the implementation and use of AI in chemistry education. Please click here to submit an abstract, which are due by the end of the day on Monday, September 30. You may direct questions to symposium organizer, Derek Behmke (behmked@vcu.edu).
Sincerely,
Derek Behmke (behmked@vcu.edu)
