I know it's hard to think about submitting an abstract to the Fall meeting when the spring one hasn't happened yet, but I wanted to invite you to submit an abstract to a symposium featuring innovations in Online Education. The title and abstract are included below.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you all in DC in August!
Online & Upward: Improving Online Education to Increase Chemistry's Global Reach (Oral)
Online education is an ever-growing field that challenges its practitioners in new and exciting ways. It can be difficult to deliver chemistry content, which a number of students traditionally struggle to grasp, to a seemingly “anonymous” audience. It can be even more difficult to tailor the online experience to various learning styles and to create a sense of community in an online classroom. This symposium would showcase authors that desire to share their proven best practices in the blended and online classrooms. These best-practices could include content delivery, assessment, laboratory skills, etc. This symposia would be broad enough to appeal to a range of professionals, but narrow enough that it showcases the best that online chemistry education has to offer.
