Call for Abstracts: Three-Dimensional Learning Symposium at Spring ACS 2019

Good afternoon,

Please consider submitting an abstract to our symposium for the upcoming Spring 2019 ACS National Meeting in Orlando. The goal of our symposium is to provide a place to have a rich discussion about research that supports three-dimensional teaching and learning (as defined by the Next Generation Science Standards), more information provided below. If you, or anyone you know, are interested, we encourage you to submit an abstract. The deadline for submission is October 29th.

Core Ideas, Crosscutting Concepts, and Science Practices: Three-Dimensional Learning in Chemistry
Organizers: Melanie Cooper (Michigan State University), Kinsey Bain (Michigan State University), Jon-Marc Rodriguez (Purdue University), Marcy Towns (Purdue University)
Symposium Description:
According to the Next Generation Science Standards, three-dimensional learning involves the interaction of core ideas, crosscutting concepts, and science practices. Although originally conceptualized for K-12 education, recent work has emphasized the importance of three-dimensional learning in university-level chemistry education. Presentations are welcome which have an evidence-based understanding of how instruction can support student engagement in three-dimensional learning. Alternatively, presentations which have an evidence-based understanding of how to promote engagement in science practices are encouraged as well.

We hope to hear from you soon!  If you have questions, please let us know.
