Postdoctoral Position in Chemistry Education at the University of New Hampshire, Department of Chemistry in association with several NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) projects, Professor Christopher Bauer, PI. One project investigates how experience with Peer-Led Team Learning helps students retain understanding of general chemistry ideas into analytical chemistry. Another project assesses student learning and scientific identity when an entire small college chemistry curriculum is guided and transformed using a service learning theme. Responsibilities include pedagogic research and development, assessment design and implementation, application of both qualitative and quantitative tools, and working with faculty at large and small institutions. Initial one-year appointment, with possibility of second year re-appointment, contingent on satisfactory performance, project scope, and availability of funds. Opportunities to teach or co-teach in general chemistry, PLTL, or advanced chemistry courses will be available in second year. Doctoral degree in chemistry education or science education, or in chemistry or biochemistry with experience in disciplinary-based education research is required. Earliest start time May 2019.
