CER faculty position, Appalachian State University

 

The Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences at Appalachian State University is seeking to expand its faculty expertise in the field of Chemical Education Research (CER).

We are seeking candidates to fill a position at the Assistant Professor rank to begin in August 2020.  The successful candidate is expected to provide instruction in introductory chemistry and, optionally, other advanced courses dependent on the candidate’s area of expertise.  They will be expected to initiate and sustain an externally funded undergraduate research program that adheres to industry and academic best practices and a risk-based chemical safety approach.  Furthermore, it is hoped that an expertise in CER will allow the successful candidate to make meaningful contributions to the improvement of our department’s overall curriculum and program assessment.
