CALL OF INTEREST
The Bulgarian Society for Chemical Education and History and Philosophy of
Chemistry is part of the Union of Chemists in Bulgaria, a member of the
European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences, EuChemS. We plan to
establish a new peer-reviewed academic journal entitled Teaching and Learning
Chemistry: An Academic Journal.
The journal will cover current topics of chemical education – class
experiments for teaching practitioners, novel teaching approaches and
innovations in teaching practice. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed new challenges
in chemistry education in terms of quality assurance of online teaching and
learning. Uncertainties around the pandemic imposed urgent implementation of
blended learning with the need of a high degree of flexibility for switching
between face-to-face and online modes of delivery and assessment. Online based
platforms have been widely incorporated to simulate laboratory experiments and
to facilitate the bridge between theory and practice. The new journal will
serve as a platform of sharing good practice and success stories in the area of
chemical education.
This call of interest is for qualified educators who are willing to support
our efforts in establishing the new journal as members of the Editorial Board. To
apply to become a member of the Editorial Board of the journal, please send a
short biography containing relevant experience in teaching and learning
practice and research interests to
