The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNC Greensboro invites applications for a full-time instructor position to replace a colleague who recently moved to a project director position in the university. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to teach general and introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses both in person and online using student-centered, active learning, and inquiry-based approaches. The position also includes responsibilities as a laboratory course coordinator, such as training and mentoring teaching assistants, and designing and facilitating laboratory experiments and clear grading criteria for laboratory reports. *Established Qualifications for the Position:*
● completed or nearly completed MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related area;
● a demonstrated potential for effective teaching of both undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses;
● teaching experience at the college level, preferably in general or introductory chemistry;
● a demonstrated potential for contributing to the teaching mission of the department beyond the classroom;
● a demonstrated commitment to educating, and the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus population.
The suggested submission date for applications is Monday, June 7, with review continuing until the position is filled. Personal or video interviews with the top candidates are expected to begin in the middle of June.
