The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is searching for a Teaching Assistant Professor. This position can start as early as July. This position is envisioned as a long-term appointment for an innovative teacher, with an initial appointment term of four years. Teaching responsibilities will include General Chemistry and General Chemistry Labs (CHEM 101/102 and 101L/102L), and one or more of Inorganic Chemistry (CHEM 251) and/or Biochemistry (CHEM 430). Qualified applicants will have expertise in teaching large enrollment courses. Applicants will also be expected to be involved in curriculum and laboratory course development, serve on committees, and engage in appropriate departmental activities.
The minimum education and experience requirements for this position are a PhD degree in chemistry, chemistry education or related discipline. Candidates with both postdoctoral experience and demonstrated experience with innovative and evidence-based teaching methods will be considered most competitive.
