BCCE Symposium: Designing and Evaluating Curricula to Incorporate Scientific Research Skills

Dear colleagues,

This is a call for abstracts for the symposium Designing and Evaluating Curricula to Incorporate Scientific Research Skills which will take place this summer at the 2020 Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE) at Oregon State University (Corvallis, Oregon) from July 18th-23rd. Nicole Ladue at Northern Illinois University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Science of Learning The Visualization & Geoscience Education Research Lab at NIU seeks a post-doctoral researcher to support a NSF-funded project investigating students' conceptual understanding of geoscience processes (NSF #1835950.) This mixed-mixed methods study investigates aspects of students' spatial thinking and understanding associated with surface processes (i.e. weathering, erosion, and deposition) and hydrologic processes (i.e. groundwater and river systems).

ACS Bridge Travel Awards for Graduate Students

Are you presenting at the ACS Spring National Meeting? For the 2020 application cycle only, the ACS Bridge Project is offering travel funds to graduate students presenting at the ACS National Meeting. The student award will defray travel and/or registration costs to the Spring National Meeting and Exposition. Each award will be for up to $2,500 of eligible expenses. The aim of this travel award is to advance the career and professional development of URM chemical science graduate students by helping to support the students' effort in presenting at the ACS National Meeting.
