Methods in Chemistry Education Research (Online Symposia)

Methods in Chemistry Education Research (MICER) is normally a one day meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, focussing on the how to of education research. For 2020, in response to the global pandemic, MICER is moving online, and we are expanding our programme to a series of three symposia, with the first scheduled for Thursday 28th May, 11 AM – 5 PM BST. Anybody with an internet connection may join our conference, but you must register using the link below. Registration costs £10 (ten pounds Sterling) to cover conference hosting costs.

Postponement of the International Conference on Chemistry Education, ICCE, to January 2021 in Cape Town, South Africa

The Local Organising Committee in consultation with the IUPAC Committee for Chemistry Education has decided to postpone the 26th International Conference on Chemistry Education to January 2021.  The name of the conference will change to ICCE 2021.  Preliminary information about ICCE 2021 is given below.

Research Associate Position in Science Education in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Utah

A research associate position is available at the University of Utah in the Department of Chemistry. This position is a full-time, 12-month position, with the potential to extend 4 years, assuming excellent annual performance-based reviews. The research associate will work on several assessment projects concerning evidence-based inclusive teaching and student learning and retention in STEM.

Study Involving Conversion of Hand-drawn Structures to Digital Form

Vadim Fedorov at Vision Arcanum is working on a research study aimed at developing a tool for automatic conversion of hand-drawn structures into digital form. He is looking for research participants to draw structures using a digital tablet and stylus. Each session takes about 10 - 15 minutes and can be completed on your own time.
