New and Noteworthy Symposium

Please join us on Sunday morning in San Francisco for the Chemistry Education Research: New and Noteworthy in 2015 - 2016 symposium where we will highlight four (4) exemplary papers published in the last year.

This symposium is designed to engage the community in discussion of the New and Noteworthy work with a 20 minute presentation, followed by 20 minutes of discussion. The session will be on Sunday morning, beginning at 8:30 am, in the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Nob Hill A.

The order of events is as follows:

Putting CER into Practice Symposium at the ACS fall meeting in DC

Jessie and I would like to encourage everyone who has done research that has directly impacted practice or those who have used the results of chemistry education research to change their practice to submit an abstract for the Fall ACS meeting - or even better partner up and submit a pair of talks with one highlighting the research and one highlighting the practice. The deadline is coming up quickly - Monday, March 27.

Younger Chemistry Education Scholars (YCES) Committee Events at the Spring 2017 ACS Meeting

The *Younger Chemistry Education Scholars Committee* has put together a lineup of events for the *ACS Spring National Meeting in San Francisco*.

The events are intended for undergraduates interested in finding out more about chemistry education, CER graduate students and postdocs, and recent CER graduates (within 5 years, pre-tenure if faculty). *Please see the attached flyer for details* of the events with dates, times, and locations.

ACS Northwest Regional Meeting June 25-28, 2017 Corvallis, Oregon

Chemistry education researchers and scholars are invited to submit an abstract and participate in the 72nd American Chemical Society Northwest Regional Meeting from June 25-28, 2017 in Corvallis, Oregon.  The Oregon Section of the American Chemical Society is pleased to host NORM17 at the LaSells-Stewart Center on the Oregon State University campus. Chemistry educators from Oregon State University, Oregon Institute of Technology University, the University of Oregon, the University of Utah, and The Ohio State University have committed to presenting papers and being symposium chairs.
